compositions for headphones and a drumstick (2021)
A drumstick and a soundtrack in your headphones is all you need to change the city into a place of self-performativity. You will receive some instructions to play along with the compositions and your own imagination. Like this you become the audience and the performer of this piece at the same time. You perform for yourself, but you are not alone: you look around and you might see others with headphones and sticks.
Let yourself be guided and guide yourself through a parallel layer of reality: the playground of potentiality!
Hear with your eyes and dance without anyone noticing it.
Embody the possible, the wild and the beautiful.
This event is co-curated with Meakusma Festival. Meakusma is an artist-focused collective in operation as an event organiser since 2004, a record label since 2008, organising the yearly Meakusma Festival since 2016. Its focus is on underground experimental and club music alike. As a record label, Meakusma has always focused on artists and musicians with a singular musical vision, steering clear of trends and tendencies. The yearly Meakusma Festival, that has now temporarily morphed into the more low-key Meakusma Weekend because of the Covid-19 pandemic, focuses on music, installations, radio shows, screenings, artist talks and performance art.
